Our Mission

  1. Empower Local Retailers
To equip neighborhood businesses with the technology, visibility, and tools they need to compete—not by becoming like the giants, but by amplifying what makes them irreplaceable: trust, quality, and genuine human connection.
  2. Reconnect Consumers to Community
To make supporting local businesses effortless, rewarding, and deeply personal—transforming every purchase into an investment in the places and people that matter most.
  3. Rebuild Local Economies
To keep dollars circulating within communities, funding local jobs, supporting local families, and preserving the unique character of neighborhoods that deserve to thrive.

We are not anti-technology. We are pro-community.
We are not against progress. We are for people.
We are not fighting commerce. We are reclaiming it.

Because an economy without community is just transactions.
And a community without economy cannot survive.

About the Founder & CEO

He spent decades working in retail, on and off since 2000. Not just clocking in—but watching closely. Store by store, block by block, he saw his city change. Beloved local businesses disappeared. National chains moved in, then vanished just as quickly. Construction rose without connection, casting literal and figurative shadows over the communities that once thrived there. What was familiar became unrecognizable.

Doing nothing was never an option.

But neither was pretending to be someone he wasn’t.

DeMarkus didn’t write code. He didn’t come from money or tech privilege. What he had was lived experience, curiosity, and an unshakable sense that the system was out of balance. Through Google seminars at GWU and Anne Arundel Community College, long nights of learning, and real conversations sparked through DevFest, he found his way back to purpose.

CONNECONOMY was born from that journey.

Though vibe‑coded, its foundation is deeply intentional—built on memory, responsibility, and the belief that economies should serve people, not erase them. This platform is not a trend. It is a response. A stand. A promise.

DeMarkus Green will not rest until balance is restored—between innovation and community, progress and preservation, opportunity and humanity.
